Claiming Your Money Back - Is It Possible?

Claiming Your Money Back - Is It Possible?

So you made a purchase online and you want to know if you can get you money back. Well, yes and no, and it all depends on the payment / money transaction method you used when making the order.

You CANNOT get your money back if you chose...
- Bank Transfer
- Moneygram
- Western Union
- bitcoin
- MonkeyPak
- Geopay
- Pre-paid virtual cards
- Cash in an envelope

What about if you entered all your security details?

As far as your details; even if you entered all your bank details, the card ID checks, your dogs favourite toy, and ex-wives maiden name, the bank still has to honour any fraud. Basically a bank note is just an IOU from the bank, and if you never got the goods, they Owe You the money back, thats all.

Is Shipping cigs illegal?
Shipping cigs is NOT illegal, if it was you would not be able to order it from a shop on the high street or internet. You cant just order illegal drugs and controlled substances in the same way, like if you order 20 cartons of Napalm you WILL get into trouble. The 'legality' is simply from the TAX - the cost the government say you should be paying for your cigs. If you ship them cheaper than they say is allowed, you pay the extra. In some cases its no big deal, but it can be a sting if you paid a lot of money to buy them more cheaply.

If you paid by CARD...
If you paid by debit card, or you made a credit card payment under $100, contact your bank and say you want to use the ‘chargeback scheme’.

If you used a Credit Card and the item cost more than £100 but less than £30,000, contact your credit card company and say that you want to make a ‘section 75’ claim to get your money back.

If you paid using PayPal, use PayPal’s online resolution centre to report your dispute. You must do so within 180 days of paying.

Will this hurt your credit rating?, what if they dont believe you??
Banks and card companies pay insurance against claims like this. What is the point of a bank paying loads of money in insurance fees if nobody ever claimed?? Your bank and credit card company will be very happy to make a claim on your behalf, and prove that their millions spent on liability and claims insurance wasn't wasted.

How to buy 10 cartons legally in the first place?
Lastly, instead of buying online, I recommend people just visit Spain and get 10 cartons of Duty Free cigs for just 39-45 euros each, and then you pay nothing extra. Most countries in Europe have a limit on the number of sleeves you can bring back from vacation/holiday, and you will have to check this in your country, but usually 10 sleeves is around the limit. To ship 10 sleeves might cost 25-55 euros, but for 120 euros you could book yourself a day-return flight to somewhere sunny.
