The author of this article seems very clear on the types of inhale and exhale a lady can do, along with photos demonstrating what the author is trying to say. The notes are peppered with 'you will die if you do this' disclaimers, which are of course unsubstantiated. I personally prefer the direct inhale, and my breathing is not a problem.
